What is ceramic coating on cars? Freehold, NJ

The ceramic coating, by Gliptone, not only makes for a great shine on your car but it also protects the paint, by actually making the clear coat harder. And it lasts longer than wax. One formula lasts three years while others go to five years or even 10 years (applied with heat). Freehold, NJ

PRODUCTS

Nano Ceramic Coatings are completely different from traditional carnauba waxes and other paint sealants. Traditional waxes provide excellent depth of gloss and protection to the surface, but when exposed to environmental contaminants, sunlight, rain, snow, and repeated washings, average protection is typically up to 90 days. Nano Ceramic Coatings bond to the surface to provide enhanced paint protection that takes years to wear down.

TECHNOLOGY

Our Nano Ceramic Coatings are based on Nanotechnology, which is the science of working with very small particles, defined as 1 billionth of a meter or smaller. Gliptone’s Nano Ceramic Coatings are made with a base of Silicon Dioxide (SIO2), with our premier product enriched with Titanium Dioxide (TiO2). Silicon Dioxide is most commonly found in nature as Quartz and when formulated into a ceramic coating, a chemical bond is created with the surface. The fact that it has been made in Nano scale allows it to fill in the microscopic pores in your factory clear coat. What does all this mean? It means Nano Ceramic Coatings create a strong protective surface that is semi-permanent, super hydrophobic, easier to clean and maintain, and significantly enhances the appearance of both gloss and matte finishes.

The Major Benefits of Ceramic Coatings are their deep gloss, durability, resistance to chemicals and environmental contaminates. The most noted benefit people appreciate after application is the self-cleaning characteristics.

Over 30 years of experience and a state of the art facility.

We take great pride in the quality of our work.

Benefits of Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic coatings provide a strong, protective surface to the car’s body that can block all manner of foreign matter and prevent them from causing damage to the car. On any given day, a car has to endure a variety of attacks to its body, from accidental scratches to mud, dirt and other contaminants that are an inescapable part of the road. The nano-coating ensures that the original coating of the car is encased in a protective layer that can withstand a great deal of damage without showing any ill-effects on the body of the car.

A ceramic paint coating goes much further than an ordinary paint job for protecting the surface of the vehicle. The new coating is fused to the surface of the automobile and is not dislodged by vibrations or external force. Whereas traditional vehicle coatings, such as wax, wear off over time when exposed to the weather, acidic components of the atmosphere and bird droppings, nano-coatings last for years.

The more pitted a surface, the easier it is for dirt to find tiny pockets to sink into. As the name suggest, nano-coating works at the molecular level to ensure that the coating provided is extremely smooth and even. This means that even when the dirt comes in contact with the coating, it finds no place to stick to, and simply rolls off the surface

It may seem at first glance that having a ceramic coating installed is cost-prohibitive but take another look. Since wax lasts only 1 to 3 months, it needs to be reapplied at least quarterly. You’ll spend about $200 four times a year for a good wash and wax. That’s $800 per year. Over 5 years you would spend $4,000 for quarterly waxing. Since a professional ceramic coating is essentially permanent if maintained properly, it would require a single application over the average lifetime of vehicle ownership. If you never have to wax your car again you would save money. If you invest $1500 for a premium ceramic coating for your car, you would save $2500 over 5 years, compared to quarterly waxing
